After much prayer and consideration, a formulation meeting was held in March of 1974 to start a Christian Church congregation in Inverness because there was a need for a New Testament Church to preach the Gospel and make disciples in accordance with the Lord's commission. With the Lord leading, First Christian Church of Inverness was born. The church first met at Hickory Hill Recreation Center. Though change and growth FCCI has served the community at three locations in Inverness with the location to date (2023) at 2018 Colonade St. Through the growth, expansion and change with the churches' pastors and associate pastors Roy Gilman, Dr. Paul Holderman, Dennis Harris, Rod Stringer, Scott Tageson, Jack Fawley, Todd Langdon, Karl Starzinger, Glen Borne, John Scott, Dr. Ray Kelley and present Tom Thomas. First Christian Church has continually worked to sustain growth along with the needs of the church, parishioners and missions.
